⊹₊🦴౨ৎ ~⭑Spaced Out !⭑˙🐾⟡!!🍥

 ⋅˚₊‧ ୨୧ ‧₊˚ ⋅ Hi everyone! It's bea!

I hope you guys had a good day. After a couple posts, we'll finally be reviewing a book again! (haha I know it's only been 2 posts but shh...) Today we'll be talking about the book Spaced Out. It's the sequel of the book Space Case. The author is Stuart Gibbs, and he is also the author of the hit FunJungle series. I recommend checking his other books out. Without further ado, let's begin!

Okay, let’s talk about Spaced Out—a wild, witty ride through space that I didn’t expect to love this much. From the first chapter, it had me hooked with its snappy dialogue, oddball characters, and just the right amount of chaos. It’s classic space adventure vibes, but with a fresh, quirky twist that made it feel anything but typical.

The real magic here? The characters. They’re flawed, funny, and surprisingly heartfelt. Whether it’s the too-smart-for-their-own-good navigator or the emotionally constipated captain, I couldn’t help but root for every single one of them. Their banter is top-tier, and even the quieter moments land with emotional weight.

Plot-wise, it's fast-paced and full of surprises—one minute you’re laughing, the next you're on the edge of your seat. I especially loved the small touches: crumbling planets, awkward robot companions, and a zero-gravity scene that’s both hilarious and oddly moving.

There’s nowhere to hide on the world’s first moon base. After all, it’s only the size of a soccer field. So when Nina Stack, the commander of Moon Base Alpha, mysteriously vanishes, the Moonies are at a total loss.

Though he may be just twelve years old, Dashiell Gibson is the best detective they’ve got. But this confusing mystery pushes Dash to his limits. Especially since Dash accidentally made contact with an alien and has to keep it a secret. With the fate of the entire human race hanging in the balance, will Dash be able to solve the mystery of the missing Moonie? -Amazon reviews

If I had to nitpick, the romance angle felt a bit rushed, and there were some world-building threads I wanted more of—but honestly? That’s just me being greedy. I've already read the sequel (ha!).

On a final note, Spaced Out is sharp, funny, and sneakily emotional. Perfect if you love sci-fi with a beating heart and characters who feel real (even in zero-G). Solid ⭐⭐⭐⭐½ from me, but I don't think you'll find a lower rating anywhere else! And if you do, well, let's just ignore that rating.
